Geometrica®: Architectural

Form is the most basic of architectural features: it is set by structure and defines a building's character. More and more design professionals are discovering and specifying a structural system that provides exciting forms for landmark buildings. This system, Geometrica®, is a true new medium for architectural expression and a platform for technology to meet elegance and modern design.

Sports facilities, exhibition centers, passenger terminals, malls, assembly areas, production facilities and many other buildings require distinctive structures to cover great spans with no intermediate supports. These are the types of application where Geometrica® provides the most striking and cost effective solutions. Geometrica® space frames and free-style structures are efficient and, most importantly, beautiful.

Geometrica® structures are made with its versatile structural system of strong and corrosion resistant galvanized steel or aluminum and are finished with powder- or wet-coatings in custom colors.

Cladding may consist of any roof and ceiling system in combination with translucent or transparent skylights. The light, prefabricated structures are containerized and shipped from our plant to anywhere in the world, where they are readily installed by local labor.

Geometrica®: Industrial

Many industrial processes can benefit from expansive, column-free environments which permit the free flow of product and equipment. For these processes, traditional post and beam systems are restrictive and not efficient.In recent years, leading architects have pioneered the design and construction of long span roofs for production facilities using Geometrica®. Their buildings provide unprecedented functionality in the new plants.

Geometrica® free form domes and space frames make possible structures like the pictured Nemak domes, with breathtaking free-spans 224m long. The plant layouts are no longer constrained to a grid. Production flow can be easily changed and equipment updated when necessary.

Arches and flat or sloped space frames are also feasible and provide efficient and elegant structural forms for a wide variety of manufacturing buildings.

Clear spans of up to 60m have been built with flat Geometrica® space frames.

In hot climates, the warm air in a high clearance structure rises and is ventilated out, resulting in a more comfortable work area and saving on cooling costs. Also, the air space in the higher parts of the building is an efficient insulator.

Geometrica®: Bulk Storage

Power plants, mines, cement plants, ports and many other industries need to stock large quantities of dry bulk materials. These were traditionally left uncovered, or stored in vertical silos. But open stockpiles produce dust and contaminated runoff, and silos are small and expensive. Due to increasing environmental concerns, many organizations desiring covered storage have looked for and found a cost effective way to solve their problem: Geometrica®'s geodesic domes.

Material stockpiles may be classified in four general categories by their shape: ring, conical, longitudinal and free form. Ring piles are formed by automated circular stacking/reclaiming (S/R) equipment having a slewing stacker at the center and a bridge reclaimer spanning the radius of the pile. A fixed drop from above forms conical piles. Linear S/Rs or trippers form longitudinal piles. And dumping material from trucks or stacking with moveable conveyors and spreading with front-end loaders forms irregular piles. Any of these types of piles may rest directly on the ground, or may be constrained at its perimeter by a wall. Geometrica®'s geodesic domes easily adapt to each of these types of piles and cover even the largest ones.

Geometrica®'s geodesic domes are made with its efficient structural system of strong and corrosion resistant galvanized steel or aluminium. The light, prefabricated domes are containerized and shipped from our plant to anywhere in the world. Construction may proceed before, during or after material handling equipment is installed, and, frequently, the domes are built over existing live material stockpiles with minimal or no downtime.
